DMS - Document Management System
The DMS module utilises an “Information @ your fingertips ” approach in an EN/ISO 9000 compliant electronic archive with full revision management of data and documents and a built-in viewer for 2D drawings, videos, pictures, text documents and 3D solids.

CMS - Configuration Management System
The CMS module is a full item and BOM revision management system with direct links to CAD documents and full traceability on all changes.

CAD/ERP CAD Integration
The CAD/ERP CAD Integration module integrates all major 2D/3D/ECAD CAD systems with bidirectional exchange of BOMs, items, and 3D file-management. It also implements a “4-click” efficient approach to revision management, check-out, check-in, and release.

ECM - Engineering Change Management
The ECM module implements change procedure control stretching from customer complaints to implementation of the change. The graphical workflow implements electronic workflow handling for managing business processes. The ECM module tightly integrates with AX modules, such as purchase, production and sales across AX companies.

CLS - Classification and Retrieval System
The CLS module is a tree and attribute based classification and retrieval system of components and items which ensures extensive reuse of existing components, items and BOM structures.

PFM – Product Family Model Parametric BOM
The PFM module is a fully parametric and rule based configuration engine with multilevel BOMs and full CAD integration for automatic generation of CAD and manufacturing data.

CS - Cluster Service and Citrix
The CS module delivers local access time for all data, documents and 3D files in a distributed environment using Citrix or terminalserver technology.

BlueStar PDM/PLM is mainly written in X++ and .net and is a fully immersed Dynamics AX add-on that exploits all the functionality of the Dynamics AX environment and technology stack.
